Mirka is involved in several musical projects. They are diverse in genres and are currently available for booking. See below for more information.
The unique concept of this solely vocal project was created on a loop station as an exploration of Mirka’s authentic self. Every song is typical for its atmosphere, partially improvised, partially pre-written without using words. Thanks to the wide range and precise rhythmical sense, Mirka creates multiple layers and poly-rhythmical patterns using a beatbox.
In this project, Mirka sends out freedom of expression. She experiments with all kinds of colors that a human voice is able to produce and accepts it fully. With this project, Mirka is releasing the successful debut album Malbum (label Hevhetia) in 2022 featuring various top-notch artists from the Czech Republic (Zdenek Bina, Endru, Ridina Ahmedova).
LOOP STATION DUO/video performance
The audiovisual live show is an unconventional duo of two Czech artists – musician Mirka Novak and visual artist Pavel Liška. The concert very closely connects two sensory perceptions, hearing and sight, and thus brings a new dimension to listening to music. By using a loop station and her voice, Mirka creates music live on stage. She presents her compositions from the Malbum and also she uniquely transforms the musical motives of various cultures in which she currently finds inspiration
Opposite of her stands Pavel, who reacts to the music in the moment and creates moving thematic images. The remarkable live show captivates listeners with its innovative rendition. Just as it is possible to portray music with colors of sound, the image can be also played out by melodies, blended, colored, and bent.
All variations are perfect for indoor (eg. atypical spaces, churches, galleries, openings, site-specific projects, corporate parties) as well as for outdoor events (eg. festivals, opening, site-specific projects)

Hlaskontrabas Oktet is a unique ensemble of 4 voices and 4 double basses. It was created from the original duo of Ridina Ahmedová and Petr Tichý nominated for the Andel Music Awards in Czechia in 2016.
Supported by the EEA and Norway Grants the band toured Iceland for a two-week artist residency, and recorded the album, “Kaleidoscapes,” under the most famous Czech publishing house Animal Music. Music for the album was composed by respected composers from Norway, Iceland, Israel, and the Czech Republic.
This album was nominated for the prestigious Czech music award Andel in the jazz category in 2024.

Members of the band change according to where Mirka Novak tours. The sound fuses jazz, soul, and latin music. The repertoire refers to significant jazz composers which Mirka Novak reshapes into her renditions (Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, A. C. Jobim, H. Hancock, Gretchen Parlato, etc.).
On this project, she has already collaborated with Federico Gonzalez Peňa, Tarus Mateen, Edward Miles, David Jernigan, Dave Manley, Nick J. Lewis, Ivan Audes, Daniel Bulatkin, etc.
Worth mentioning is the duo with pianist Kristina Barta, with whom Mirka performed as an opening act for 2024 Grammy Award winner Nicole Zuraitis. With the quartet format, Mirka performs in well-known jazz clubs (Reduta Prague CZ, Brass House Austin TX, Twins Jazz Washington D.C., etc.) and on international stages and festivals.

R’n’B’ neo-soul band formed in 2015 in Pilsen, CZE. The repertoire consists of Mirka Novak’s originals that were recorded in the USA and other songs influenced by the R’n’B music scene (Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway, etc.).
The band has performed successful shows with Grammy nominee, American drummer David “Fingers” Haynes in 2017 and 2019. Another distinguished guest of the band in 2022 was Houston drummer Edward Miles.
Members: Mirka Novak – lead vocals, Martin Adamovsky – guitar, Jan Techl – keys, Daniel Eberle – bass, Jaroslav Minar – drums, Tereza Antonova and Lucie Hajickova – backing vocals.
